Proper Position When Using an Electronic Punching Bag
One of the most prominent equipment you see in a gym is a punching bag, a sturdy bag filled with rubber dust, which a person can repeatedly punch for exercise or for practice. While these are common in many gyms, more advanced establishments utilise an electronic punching bag. This is similar to its standard counterpart with the exception of numerous sensors placed in the structure. When you punch the bag, the sensors activate and send signals to a display that measures the power of your punch, which is also a good way to determine how strong you are. The following are some tips on how to properly use one.
Use an electronic punching bag while keeping a proper form. Remember that this is a massive piece of gym equipment and not conforming to a proper stance and techniques can injure you. For a proper stance, you should stand up with either your right or left foot closer to the bag. Your legs should be shoulder-width apart. With your elbows bent, one fist should be level with your cheek and the other with your shoulder. To punch properly, strike forward with your fist. To avoid injury, your wrist and the back of your fist should be in a straight line with your forearm. You can increase your punch power if you push your back foot toward your front foot while turning your hips, thighs, and stomach muscles slightly to side. Your first two knuckles should squarely hit the punching bag. Be sure that your arms, shoulders, and hands are loose. Finally, check the reading as you hit each section of the bag. If the rate varies greatly for each type of punch, it may be an indication that you are not in the correct form.
